Blackberry Blooms

I checked the garden in between raindrops and discovered that my blackberries have nice sized blossoms. They are newer bushes that I planted 3 years ago. They seem to be a bit early this year, but I'm still excited!

Gardening is my passion...love the smell of fresh air, enjoy the sight of seedlings popping through the ground, and like the feel of the dirt between my fingers. How about you?

Nature Abounds Out Back

Can you see him? Right there behind the garlic.

Here's a little closer. All settled in. Snug as a bug in a rug.

I actually put him there after I dug him up when working in the garden. Had to relocate him so I could continue to work. 

Toads are my constant companions out in the yard and garden.

I have some new tenants in the garden this spring. Baby bunnies...happens every year.

We seem to coexist just fine. Don't have pictures of the little critters just yet.  

And speaking of babies...see these little ones? There will be more soon. Many, many more! 

Love all that nature that abounds out back. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Rain Rain Go Away

Nothin' like a warm spring shower to freshen the air and give promise to make the earth a nice, rich green.

BUT really...a little dab will do ya...I need to get started in the garden!!!

We have had...

-Two weeks worth of daily heavy downpour

-Loud cracks of thunder at all hours sending the house cats a scattering

-Continuous flash flood warnings for the area

-And the lake out back is spilling out and over the road into the already rushing and swollen creek

This is a picture of our flooded area last year. Couldn't get a picture this year...too much rain!

It soon will be okay...I'm just waiting for the grand finale and all will be good again.
